The Art Gallery at St. John’s has regularly changing exhibits, including Artist’s talks, art classes and demonstrations.

Sunday, March 7

12 - 3 pm: The 11th Annual Plaid Show: PLAID GONE WILD,  Opening Reception with Celebrity Judges

Along with the eternally unpredictable weather comes the most unpredictable of art "happenings" at The Gallery at St. John’s during March and April.  Here you will find artists and artisans, using fake names, exhibiting their plaid-inspired works.  You may even find plaid food, plaid-clad visitors and plaid stories at The 11th Annual Plaid Show: PLAID GONE WILD.

"Soup Bowls for Haiti" will be a special feature during this year’s Plaid Show.  The Potter’s Exchange and Ceramics students from the Raritan Valley Community College have donated handmade bowls - some even glazed with plaid!  There is a suggested minimum donation of $10 per bowl and all proceeds will go to the Disaster Relief Fund for Haiti.

Sunday, April 11 at noon: Artists’ Talk & Awards Ceremony Find out who the "real" artists are.  So don your best tartan and come to the Plaid Show!

Sunday, March 21

1 - 3 pm:  "Music in the Gallery"  A concert by Terry Kitchen.  Terry resides in Boston but is a native of Easton and grew up as a member of our congregation.  He is the son of Carolyn Pokrivchak.  A free will offering will benefit the Arts at St. John's.

His 2009 CD summer to snowflakes is Terry's ninth CDs of original folk music, and reached #27 on the national Folk-DJ airplay chart. It was also voted Best Solo CD of 2009 in Limelight Magazine's readers' poll. Barbara Kessler's version of his song "Snowflakes" was included on the most played Christmas folk CD of 2009, Happy Holidays.

Terry's songs are portraits of ordinary people and emotions, captured with extraordinary compassion, honesty and humor, ranging from "Bang Your Head Against the Sky" about the Wright Brothers to "The Bonny Lights of Cavendish" about English orphans sent to Canada to "The Greatest Game They Never Played" about Lafayette College's refusal of a bowl game invitation.
