At St. John’s we believe that communion is a central part of our weekly worship. It is a sacrament of the Lutheran Church and a time where we are refreshed as we encounter Christ in the world. For more information about an ELCA understanding of Holy Communion please click here.
Communion Practices
All baptized Christians who unite with us in believing that our Lord Jesus is truly present in the bread and wine are welcome and encouraged to receive the Lord’s Supper. Children and adults who do not commune may come forward for a blessing.
Communion Class
This class is designed to help guide those who are wishing to receive communion for the first time. The individual and his/her parents, if a minor, will explore the importance of this sacrament. Scheduled classes can be found on the special events page or by contacting the church office using the information below.
